Outreach with our Mini Vinnies

Today we visited the residents at Addison Court.  We were greeted with a round of applause and then we teamed up and spent sometime with residents talking to them about our school.

We wandered off discussing lots of different topics - football, parties and trips.  Then we were given crisps, biscuits and juice and we continued to sit and talk to our new friends about what plans we had for the weekend.

It was a lovely afternoon.  We will be visiting them every month to continue our outreach programme.

Addison Court - Mini Vinnies

Thanks to the employees and residents at Addison Court for making our Mini Vinnies feel so welcome.  The children had a fantastic time and really enjoyed the conversations and interesting information about the past.  We managed to cover experiences of education, football and war.  The children found the information about the war fascinating.

Year 3 visit a synagogue

On Thursday 3rd October, Year 3 visited the synagogue in Gosforth.  They were given the opportunity to find out about the different signs and symbols in the synagogue.  It was a great experience and allowed children to reinforce their understanding of other faiths by speaking to members of the Jewish community and asking questions to deepen their knowledge of the Jewish faith.
