National Poetry Day 2023

A fantastic national poetry day assembly presented by Mrs Pinnella Noble.

There were lots of opportunities for children to share their understanding of poetry.

Children with Mrs Pinnella Noble's guidance, composed a poem together.  It was brilliant and 'quite easy'

We also heard our Reception class and Year 1 children share their poems with the rest of the school.

A big thank you to all of our 'parent secret readers' who came into school to read a classic poem to their child's class.

World Book Day 2022

A gallery of images taken during our whole school WBD parade.  The character costumes and book choices were amazing.  Thank you for being so creative.  A great day to celebrate WBD!

National Storytelling Week

The children enjoyed a number of exciting tasks and activities as part of National Storytelling Week. Teachers even swapped classes to share a favourite story! Y6 shared favourite stories with their Special Friends in Reception class.

As part of the Northern Children's Book Festival, Y6 were incredibly lucky to be chosen for an author session with Ghost Hunting legend and children's author Yvette Fielding. The children learned all about how to become a ghost hunter and we got to hear Yvette read a chapter of her new book: The House in the Woods. The children even got a chance to ask Yvette some questions and we learned all about her time on Blue Peter as well. She has inspired us to become Ghost Hunters!

World Book Day 2021

An amazing effort from all of the children for this year's World Book Day. We thoroughly enjoyed all of the lovely activities in class and listening to Mrs Woods read us a story. We also had so much fun designing our monsters for the ‘Monster Doughnuts’ competition.

Monster Doughnuts

We were all incredibly excited when St. Agnes’ school was chosen by the author Gianna Pollero to enter a competition to win a copy of her book ‘Monster Doughnuts’ before it is even in the shops. We all had to design a monster. We had to draw it and give it characteristics. The winner will also be mentioned in Gianna’s next book! How fantastic! Year 5 even had the amazing opportunity to chat to Gianna online. Thank you so much Gianna.

Year 4 at Gateshead Library.

Year 4 were fortunate enough to spend a morning with the fantastic Liz Million for an author and illustrators workshop. They thoroughly enjoyed it and learnt a few tricks!

Year 6 Trip to The Live Theatre

Year 6 spent a lovely afternoon experiencing a creative writing workshop at Live Tales. The children showed great imagination and produced some very interesting ideas.

World Book Day 2020

An amazing effort from all of the children for this year's World Book Day. We thoroughly enjoyed our Parade, our House Book Quiz, Secret Readers and all of the lovely activities in class.

Oliver Twist

A Fantastic Show - Well done to all of our KS2 classes.  The acting and singing was first class.  It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying this Christmas performance.  Staff and parents were so proud of the children.

Peter Pan in Pantomime

We all enjoyed the M&M production of Peter Pan.  Fantastic drama and audience participation from all classes.

Return of the Book Bus

On Friday 1st November we enjoyed visiting the book bus.  All children and parents were given time to browse and purchase the latest must reads.  The children really enjoyed buying and sharing the books they bought with their teachers and friends.
